Governor Jay Inslee proclaimed May is Arts Education month – let’s celebrate together! Several VSAA students have been recognized for their art. Alyssa Maggi won a Regional Award for “Catacombs.” Maggi also was independently selected to receive a scholarship from Pacific Northwest College of Art for their pre-college summer program. Although our Lit Arts Theme Day was unfortunately cancelled due to the school closure, we organized one last virtual hurrah for this year’s theme. Chalk Art is a spring Lit Arts tradition, and this year, we wanted to bring that tradition to the entire VSAA community. This year’s annual art theme is entitled Our Stories: Within You and Without You. Hello VSAA Seniors, We love you and miss seeing you! We would really appreciate if you would take a little time to fill out this VPS Senior Survey. This survey is sent out yearly to all seniors, but you are the one and only CLASS of 2020 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! You may find it a good place to sort out the events and feelings that go along with this unprecedented year. The survey is due June 1st. Food pantry and Child Care Vancouver School District's Family-Community Resource Center coordinators continue to reach out to families in need to help them access food provided by our community partners, and food pantries are continuing to operate around Vancouver. And, as Governor Inslee has mandated, as of March 30 we offer free childcare services for healthcare workers, first responders, pharmacy workers and grocery store workers.
