If you are a primary contact for your child, you gain access to Skyward when you register your child for school and provide the school with a valid email address. Login instructions are sent to the address that you provide. One other parent or guardian in your household also will receive access to Skyward automatically if he or she provides the school with an email address.
Hold down Ctrl-Alt and click ? — that brings up a list of all keyboard shortcuts or view them here

Save all files into Google Drive, not onto your device. When your device needs to be repaired you will lose files stored on the device, but your Google Drive files will still be there for you. You can also open them from other computers. If you want to change your Downloads folder to automatically point to a folder in Google Drive, here’s how: from Chrome click the three dots in the upper right and choose Settings. Click Advanced at left, then scroll down to Downloads. Click Change, choose Google Drive, click New Folder, name it (perhaps Downloads is a good name) and hit Open.

If your Chromebook shows that you’re connected to your home wifi but apps and websites aren’t working, shut off your Chromebook and start it up again. After you sign in when your browser launches you will see this window pop up. Log into it–your username is your student ID and your password is your Chromebook login password. You have to log into this window every time it appears or most apps/sites will not work.

How to Change your Chromebook Password
Did you know you can change your Chromebook password? Here’s how:
-Go to passwords.vansd.org <—only works at school, not at home
-Sign in using your ID and password
-Click Change Password (don’t tell anyone your new password!)
Shut down your Chromebook and log back in using your new password. It will ask your old password this one time but after that you’ll just use your new password. This new password will then be used for many things: all Google things, ClassLink, Canvas, and email.
If your Skyward login isn’t working or you can’t remember it:
Go to Skyward and click Forgot your Login/Password
Click I’m not a robot (select Captcha pictures if they pop up)
Enter your email address: YourStudentID@student.vansd.org
