Christian Ramirez, a double bass player from Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, earned his second consecutive recognition in the national YoungArts competition. Ramirez received a Merit Award in the jazz category.

The high school junior has been selected to perform in VSAA’s top instrumental ensembles: the jazz and strings repertory ensembles. Ramirez also is enrolled in theater classes.
